Santaluces had its first division one prospect sign to a school this year. Senior Darrell Langham, who committed to Miami last year, officially signed with the Hurricanes. In his final season as a high school athlete, Langham caught 30 passes for 600 yards and seven touchdowns.
Langham will join an impressive group of receivers joining Miami including four-star recruit out of North Carolina, Braxton Berrios, and three-star recruit out of Florida, Tyre Brady. Langham himself is rated a four-star recruit at wide receiver by ESPN.
The Hurricanes ranked 33rd in pass yards per game and 34th in points per game in the nation last year while posting a 9-4 record. They’re reliance on the pass game makes Langham, who hopes to play immediately, a perfect fit for their football program.
He’s also received offers from Florida State, Arkansas, and Illinois. Langham seemed pretty locked in on going to Miami, which was evident in him committing as early as last June.
“It’s the only place I actually wanted to go,” Langham told the Palm Beach Post on signing day. “I saw the program had a lot to offer with school and education, small classes. My education will be getting better. And the football program, they worked hard every play. I felt that would be a good place for me to be.”
