After a year on hiatus, the Santaluces Talent Show roared back to life in the PAC on Thursday. The two-hour extravaganza raised money for the chorus students heading to New York City and Carnegie Hall in June. Seniors Leishaly Diaz and Frank Barker hosted the event while members of the Criminal Justice Academy stood guard at the doors.
Singers, dancers, rappers, and both girls’ and boys’ step teams took the stage to compete for a $100 prize. The winner, Iovani Travieso, performed a pop-and-lock number at the end of the show. Second place went to Danyele James for her rousing version of Take it All by Adele. Third Place went to Carlisia Samuel and Kevin Allain, who collaborated on the John Legend song Ordinary People.
