This weekend’s games were all very interesting in the final quarters. Starting off with the Pats and Ravens, Joe Flacco and his team started off hot and was running on all six cylinders. As the game rolled on, New England started using “trick” plays and formations and started to throw off the Baltimore Defense. From there, Brady started connecting with all his targets and started gaining passing yards, ending the game with 367 yds, 108 of them credited to Rob Gronkowski.
The Colts and Denver game was actually a shocker. The Colts came to play and defeated Manning and his Broncos. The Broncos’ offense struggled so much throughout the whole game. Not only did their receivers drop numerous passes, the Colts defense also limited Peyton Manning to just 211 passing yds and 1 touchdown. However, Andrew Luck stuck to his normal game and rocked the Broncos’ defense rushing and passing. Receiver T.Y Hilton led the team with 4 receptions and 72 yds. Broncos simply just had no answer whatsoever as to how to break down the Colts.
The most anticipated game lived up to its hype. Both Packers and Cowboys started off strong with Eddie Lacy running strong and gaining huge chunks of yards per carry and Romo connecting with all his receivers. In the second half, Rodgers flipped a switch and went on a tear. Rodgers, throwing for 2 TDs in the second half, showed his eliteness and proved why he and his team deserved to move on. A controversial Cowboys’ catch in the remaining 4:06 almost said otherwise. Romo connected with Dez Bryant for a 31-yard reception on a fourth-and-2 down, with Bryant leaping for the ball that would’ve brought the Cowboys all the way down to a first-and-goal. Originally ruled as a reception, Packers coach Mike McCarthy highly disagreed and challenged the reception. The officials reviewed it and reversed the call, turning the ball over on downs into Packers’ possession. Who knows how the game would’ve turned out should the call have stood but Packer fans were just grateful for the win.
It will be the Colts against Patriots in the AFC Championship and Packers against the Seahawks for the NFC Championship this weekend.
