The New England Patriots v. The Seattle Seahawks will be a Super Bowl that no one will forget. All the controversy with deflategate was put aside to play the game of the year. Tickets prior to the game had a price tag as low as $9,000.
The 1st quarter was all New England, Tom Brady was 8-9 in the first and it looked that the Seahawks could not find the method to his madness. Brady had minor slip-up’s, throwing an interception in the red-zone to Seattle’s Jeremy Lane.
Eventually, the Seahawks found their formula and got a drive going. The 2nd quarter started out with a bang, with the Patriots putting 7 on the board off a pass to Brandon Lafell. But, Seattle quickly rallied and got 7 on the board matching the Patriots due to a Marshawn Lynch 3 yd run. The scoreline went back and forth and ended 14-14 going into halftime.
After a halftime analysis and a couple Katy Perry songs, the two heavyweight teams were ready to play. Now this half, the tides turned quite a lot. Seattle put 10 unanswered points on the board due to brady throwing another interception to Bobby Wagner of the Seahawks. At the end of the 3rd quarter the scoreline was 24-14 Seahawks.
In the beginning of the 4th, the Seahawks looked in business. But, the Patriots capitalized on the Seahawks miscues and put 14 unanswered points to take the lead late in the 4th. Russell Wilson got to live the dream that any kid or teen would love to be in. Two minutes, 3 timeouts, and the ball in the 4th quarter and possibly a super bowl title. Wilson drove down the field, eventually getting to New England’s 1 yd line. Seahawks Offensive Coordinator Darrell Bevell, called for a quick pass that was intercepted on the 1 yd line. This caused widespread celebration across the entire nation and even the world from Patriot’s fans.
In the end, a very controversial call by their Offensive Coordinator costed them to hoist the Lombardi trophy and ended up giving it to Tom Brady’s New England Patriots.
Overall, this game will go down in the books as one of the best super bowls in NFL history.
