The Chiefs came into senior night with a 6-18 record. The Chiefs crushed the Boynton Beach Tigers 10-0 in 5 innings, along with a combined no hitter by senior Jacob Williams and University of Saint Louis commit, junior Malik Lissone.
Williams took the mound and was flawless, going 4 innings allowing no hits. Lissone closed out the 5th inning, also allowing no hits.
The Chiefs had incredible defensive stops by sophomore M.J. Restivo, who made a spectacular diving catch in center field. Senior McKay Giffin made a great stop at second base to keep the no-hitter intact.
The Chiefs’ offensive explosion was led by senior Jacob Collins, who hit a 3-run triple in the fourth inning to make it 6-0. Restivo drove in Collins with a RBI double to make it 7-0.
The game was called after five innings after senior Zach Halpern drove in the 10th run of the game.
“It was a great win to finish the season,” said Halpern. “Now we have to prepare for districts.”
The future looks pretty bright for the Chiefs, as Restivo finished the game 3-3, driving in 2 runs and stealing 2 bases. Also, a strong performance by freshman Jared Petronis, going 2-2 with a triple, and run scored.
Up next, the Chiefs will play Boca Raton in the district playoffs.
