First Priority is a county-wide club designed to provide fellowship for Christian students. The club has been meeting since the 2009-2010 school year and meets every Thursday from 3:00-4:00 p.m and is the only religious club in campus.
Mrs. Ross is the teacher sponsor, and the club has pastor Kris Cambell from Trinity International come in to do the readings.
“We help kids who want to know who God is,” says senior Katchee Vedrine, co-president of First Priority. She made it very clear that there is no room for judgement and that it’s all about strengthening or creating a relationship with God.
Every fourth week is mission week. The mission week meeting is when a guest speaker comes in and speaks on that month’s topic with food provided at the end.
According to Mrs. Ross, the mission of this club is to not only provide Christian fellowship but to encourage friends to understand the importance of living with a relationship with God.
