The staff of The Tribe won first place in the General Excellence Website and Social Media categories Thursday at the Excellence in High School Journalism Awards, sponsored by The Palm Beach Post. The Tribe staff received a trophy and $500 for earning the top award, beating out 15 other public and private schools across Palm Beach County. The social media award honored our Instagram account @shsthetribe. Senior and Co-Editor Alan McGonigle won 2nd place in the Column Writing category, Senior Brandon Santana won 2nd place in the Photography category, and Senior Adrienne Crow won 3rd place in the Photography category. In 2015, The Tribe won the top website prize, but came in second to Dreyfoos School of the Arts’ The Muse website last year. This year, The Tribe took back first place.
