Jayson Brown is a current Senior here at Santaluces High School. He is a well-rounded student-athlete who plays football and likes to play basketball for fun.
Jayson is number 14 and plays the Tight-End position on our football team. When I asked him about last season, he truthfully talked about how it was not the greatest for him as he didn’t get too much playtime. Though this season he’s stronger, faster, and even more aggressive. Being that it is his last season, he’s looking forward to doing his part on the team and making it to States.
He says, “Anything less than a State Title is unacceptable.” This season, academically, personally, and on the field Jayson is working to be more motivated about himself.
When I asked him what his favorite game that’s he has played here at Santaluces, he said, “My favorite game would have to be the Santaluces vs. Boynton Beach Tigers.” His reasoning is that they had an impressive comeback.
If you did not to the game, the Chiefs were down 22-0. It was not until the 3rd quarter the score was 22-7. The Chiefs successfully finished the game 22-25.
This year, Jayson is working hard to bring his GPA to 3.5. He wants to go to school in Texas or go to FAMU. He hopes to make it to the league, if not he wishes to study animals and become a zoologist.
Jayson’s advice to other students would be to keep your grades up. He also advises students not to be worried about any significant others. He believes that you should wait until after high school to pursue that. Jayson expresses, that you should learn about yourself first before worrying about someone else. Jayson says, “After high school, you may never see these people again. Go out and explore.”
