Hey Chiefs! We can all agree that we love sweet treats right? However, the calories and sugars in them are really bad for you sometimes. For example, Little Debbie’s “Oatmeal Cream Pies” are delicious but full of sugar. So Chiefs, here is a simple recipe to make them at home yourself!
Ingredients
- Three sticks of salted butter
- Brown Sugar
- Sugar
- Vanilla Extract
- 2 Eggs
- Flour
- Baking Soda
- Cinnamon
- Salt
- Oats
- Powdered Sugar
- Milk
Steps
- Melt two sticks of butter
- To a bowl, add brown sugar and regular sugar. Once stirred together, add in your melted butter in intervals
- Add 1 tsp (teaspoon) of vanilla extract, and two eggs, then mix.
- To the bowl, add 1 ½ cups of flour, 1 tsp of baking soda, 1 tsp of cinnamon, and 1 tsp of salt.
- Add in 2 ½ cups of oats.
- Chill the dough in your freezer for 45 minutes, then after that roll them into balls and place on cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
- While waiting, make your frosting. Add a stick of butter, 1 ½ cups of powdered sugar, and a splash of vanilla into a bowl, then mix
- Take the cookies out of the oven, wait for them to cool, then add your frosting.
