#10 “Brahms: The Boy II”
This is the sequel to “The Boy” which I think is a great movie, but this is lacking compared to its predecessor. This movie takes place after the events of the first movie, when a family moves into the heelshire residence, where the first movie took place. When the young son of the family finds a doll named Brahms, things take a turn for the worst.
First of all, what I don’t understand is the drastic difference between the first and second movie. The best part of the first movie was because of the twist that the doll wasn’t actually haunted and instead it was a big tall hairy man living in the walls. But in this movie, we don’t see that and instead the doll is possessed which is such an overplayed scenario. It doesn’t even make sense why the doll would be possessed if Brahms is still alive, and if he died, they should have shown that to the viewer.
Overall this movie isn’t very good and took the one thing that made the first movie so iconic and made it into another creepy doll movie. This movie had so much potential and it was thrown down the drain!
#9 “Jason X”
This movie certainly tries to do Friday the 13th different, but it ultimately fails at the task. Opening up with a giant leap into the future- four hundred forty-five years, to be exact-, Jason X takes place entirely on a spaceship, a first for this saga, leaving the ‘old earth’ as it’s now called, behind. Jason is frozen away at the start of this movie, but is eventually awakened by our space crew, where space murder chaos ensues. I think this movie certainly had the potential to be good, but the confusing plot and cheesy dialogue threw me off. I for one think that if the production behind the movie was more organized, it would’ve been way better. The tone in the movie was weird to me as well. It was like the movie could not decide whether or not it wanted to be a horror movie, or a comedy movie! Zero out of ten for me.
#8 “Insidious: Red door”
The red door was honestly a flop, and the insidious franchise needs to stop making movies. We’ve gotten more than enough. It was boring and the main character, Dalton Lambert, is honestly a little creepy using the spirit world to sneak into girls dorm rooms. This movie is the 5th in the franchise and is about Josh and Dalton Lambert. Dalton (the son from the first movie who got possessed) is off to college. But he doesn’t have education on his mind. All he can think about is a red door (hence the name). He figures out he can travel to the ghost world and see all of the ghosts.
Besides this there really isn’t anything to talk about. There’s some fights between the pair and they do makeup and forgive each other in the end. Yay friendship!
#7″Halloween: resurrections“
Where does one even start with this film? The absolute ridiculousness of this movie cannot be understated. Opening up with a look into the mental hospital heroine Laurie Strode is being held in, this sequel to ”Halloween H2O” was simply not needed. Not only does this movie undo the ending of the last previously mentioned “Halloween H2O” by revealing that Laurie killed the paramedic, not Michael Myers, but she ends up escaping the mental hospital she was held in, making a trap for her estranged brother on the hospital roof. Ultimately dying by Michaels hand, before the main plot of the movie even unfolds. After this, the main plot unfolds, where college students participate in “Dangertainment”, where they will have to spend a night in Myers’ childhood home, with Busta Rhymes commentary, of course. Michael Myers eventually returns to his home while they film, and as anyone can guess, the students are picked off one by one. This movie, with its terrible plot and boring pace, was not able to grab my attention at all. If the forgettable characters weren’t irritating enough, remembering that Laurie Strode died in such a stupid way was so demoralizing. Overall, this was a terrible movie.
#6″I Still Know What You Did Last Summer“
Over dramatic and cheesy, were my first impressions of this movie. It’s pretty much a repeat of the 1st movie but it takes place in the Bahamas.
In summary, Julie, the main character, goes to the Bahamas with her friend, her friends boyfriend and her ex, how fun!! Where obviously, things go bad. The vengeful victim of a hit and run caused by Julie and her friends in the first movie comes back to get her. A bunch of her friends die but of course, she is left alive.
The only good thing about this movie is that Jack Black is in it.
#5 “Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan“
Another Jason movie makes the list. Woohoo! This particular movie was mediocre to me, as I can barely recall any good moments, if there were any. This film opens with Jason being resurrected, stowing away on a cruise ship filled with graduating teenagers going to New York City, where while on the boat and when they reach New York, he once again picks off the kids one by one. To me, the one thing this movie had going for itself was the one scene in which Julius Gaw, played by Vincent Craig, engages in a showdown with Jason where he takes some heroic punches, only to be killed in the end. Other than that, this movie’s annoying dialogue, combined with the confusing plot, turned me away from this film entirely.
#4 “Final Destination“
The idea of this movie was good but putting it together just didn’t make sense. It could have been really good, but it just had to have too many things going on all at once.
This movie is about a group of friends who cheat death. Their class was going to be going on a field trip but one of the people in their friend group had a vision that the plane they were taking was going to crash. He makes a ruckus and gets him and his friends kicked off the plane, leaving the rest of their class. Seconds later the plane carrying their class ends up crashing. This isn’t over for them though, because death is out to get them. The rest of the movie is the group of friends having many near death experiences.
I do have to give props to this movie because it did give me nightmares, which is what it was supposed to do. It’s the worst movie in the franchise, even though it was the first!
#3 “The Mouse Trap“
Seriously…what’s with this trend of Disney characters suddenly turning to murder? We need to let this go. Anyway, Opening up with the main character Alex getting surprised by her friends on her Twenty-First birthday, this film quickly takes a turn for the worst when the group of friends, all having fun, suddenly discover blood on the jungle gym and run into a very different, very murderous Mickey Mouse. When they realize he’s not here to mouse around, Mickey begins hunting the group of friends and ending them swiftly. Although this premise certainly sounded interesting, the absolute god awful acting, combined with the sub-par camera work and confusing plot made this movie borderline unwatchable. Not to mention the unoriginal Slasher formula, it’s predictability obvious. Overall, a truly terrible movie.
#2 Winnie the pooh: Blood and Honey
Where do I even start with this movie. Honestly, it feels like a fever dream. It is so confusing and everything is just so… strange.
In a nutshell Christopher Robin comes back to his magical place but Winnie the Pooh and piglet are now bloodthirsty crazy animals. They kill his girlfriend and then capture and torture him. Fast forward, a group of girls come and rent a house nearby for a little vacation moment (we love that) when they get ambushed by pooh and piglet. There are a bunch of fights to the death (most of the girls die) and one girl who I absolutely hate had the chance to escape but instead decided to turn around AND TRY TO KILL THEM! That is so incredibly stupid and doesn’t have much to do with the plot besides stalling her friends trying to get her to come along.
This movie traumatized me and was absolutely not necessary. My childhood? ruined. This movie did so bad and most of the audience were only there to hate watch! (Guilty!!)
#1 “Would You Rather”
This is quite literally the WORST movie on this entire list. In short, a girl decides to risk her life in a literal life or death game of “Would You Rather” to save her brother, who was dying from leukemia. She goes through with the game and eventually becomes the ‘Final Girl’. Upon her return home, she finds her brother, with the bag of money she almost died for, and it turns out that he was already dead, making the events of the movie and her almost sacrifice utterly redundant. Can’t say I didn’t completely waste hours of my life watching that film, negative one hundred out of ten.
