This year the 31st annual Street Painting Festival was held in Lake Worth FL, where individuals, families, and schools worked on amazing chalk art for the public. With the vacant parts of the street, children were free drawing and some squares were taken up by annual attendees while others were taken up by newcomers. Santaluces was represented by both the National Art Honor Society and the Photography Club. The artworks were finished mostly on Saturday so that the finished products could be enjoyed on Sunday. Despite it raining all day Monday, the work that was done over the weekend was spectacular.
I worked with the Photography club to create chalk art of a photo I took. We worked nonstop all day Saturday and completed it just after lunch. The photo came to life as it does for everyone’s artwork. The Street Painting Festival is an amazing experience to both partake in and watch.
People frequently ask how they can be a part of the festival and it really is easy. You can visit https://spf.lakeworthbeachfl.gov/ and apply through their website a few months before the event.
