This past Saturday, Rib Roundup, an annual country music festival, was held at the South Florida Fair. This was my second year going. It started at 11AM, and the long list of artists performing for the event lasted late into the night.
At 1pm, the first artists to take the stage were Tucker Wetmore, Drew Baldridge, Bryan Martin, Josh Ross, and Tigirlily Gold. The second lineup consisted of Dylan Marlowe, LOCASH, and Montgomery Gentry ft. Eddie Montgomery. Finally, the last lineup of the night included artists George Birge, Chase Matthew, and Bailey Zimmerman, who ended up being the main attraction of the night.
During the event there was lots of food to choose from, including ribs. Rib tasting contents were held, with ribs coming from some of the popular restaurants in the area. However, there was a great selection of food outside of ribs. In fact, I was able to try brisket, fries, rice, fried shrimp, sausages and mac & cheese. The food was amazing, although the lines were very long because of how packed the event was, especially since people wanted to eat before the artists began to sing. The food was definitely worth the money, and I would argue that it was pretty fairly priced considering the fact that most food stands sold combo deals, with each meal coming with two sides.
Overall, both the festival and music were really amazing and I would definitely recommend going, especially if you want to expand your country music taste. I even started to listen to artists like Bailey Zimmerman and Dylan Marlowe because of the new music I was exposed to at this festival.
