The Chiefs came into Tuesday night (4-0) taking on district rival Park Vista who came in (2-0). The Chiefs lost in straight sets, 13-25, 12-25 and 9-25. The loss ended the Chiefs’ perfect season dropping them to 4-1.
The first set looked good early on for the Chiefs with great play by Seniors Summer Becker and Kyli Zeeman. However, after a couple of miscues and great plays by the Cobras, the Chiefs lost the set 13-25.
In the second set, the Chiefs played with high energy as Senior Bianka Monis and Junior Juliana Miranda played spectacularly. However, the Chiefs still came up short with a 12-25 loss.
The Chiefs lost some confidence from dropping the first two sets, and Park Vista wanted to close the match out in 3 sets. The Chiefs dropped the final set 9-25.
Senior Carice Joseph weighed in after the game.
“The Chiefs played great, even though they lost,” Joseph said. “Park Vista is really talented, so the fact the Chiefs were close, is a very good sign.”
The Chiefs will look to redeem themselves September 1st against Olympic Heights.
