This past Saturday, the Bill Bone Tropical Triathlon was hosted at Lake Worth beach. Six Chiefs participated in the triathlon: Adrian Gutierrez, Brandon Santana, Dylan Holland, Haley Hinkofer, Madison Lewis and Savannah Devericks.
The Chiefs were coached by coach Johnson and Mr.Woods. Haley Hinkofer took home 1st place for all of high school girls and third overall for women under 20. Savannah Devericks and Madison Lewis finished 2nd and 3rd place for high school girls respectively.
The triathlon consisted of a quarter mile of swimming, a 13 mile bicycle ride and a 3.1 mile run. The Chiefs were sponsered by Bike America who provided the Chiefs with brand new bicycles.
Senior Dylan Holland weighed on his experience at the triathlon.
“The Triathlon was a eye opening experience for me,” said Holland.
“It showed me if I put my mind to it, I can accomplish it no matter how hard the challenge may seem to be.”
