Criminal Justice has been known for its unique lesson plans, including bringing in police horses, firetrucks, and as of Wednesday, Criminal Justice students were visited by a helicopter landing on the football field.
As a planned demonstration for the Criminal Justice students, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department brought a helicopter during the Cadet Challenge, where ROTC students were tested on their physical ability. Piloted by two sheriffs, the helicopter was not there for very long.
“The helicopter was only here for about half an hour,” said Criminal Justice teacher Officer Hargrove.
Currently, all Palm Beach County high schools are locked down in an FCAT blackout, which is a period of time where extracurricular activities aren’t allowed. This meant the helicopter couldn’t stay long, but it will return for a proper demonstration in the future.
