Kpop, or Korean pop, music has a huge fanbase all over the world, not just where it is based in South Korea. There are tons of different groups and solo artists to suit everyones own personal tastes. New groups are constantly forming and debuting as well. However, debuting as an idol is not an easy thing to do. There are many years of training to get through before artist can actually be able to perform.

Some of the most popular boy groups are:

BTS – debuted in 2013 with the hiphop track, “No More Dream”. BTS are also known by a few other names such as Bangtan Boys or even sometimes the Bulletproof Boy Scouts. BTS has seven members: Rap Monster, Suga, Jhope, Jimin, Jin, V and the youngest, Jungkook. They refer to their fans as their Armies

They are currently signed with the company Bighit. The official logo for BTS is a bulletproof vest with their BTS logo printed across the front. The latest comebacks for BTS were “Fire,” and “Young Forever,” which were released early in the summer of this year.

Exo – debuted in 2011 with the track “Mama” where each of the members were shown with different supernatural abilities such as telekinesis and pyrokinetic powers. Exo debuted with twelve members and were separated into two subunits, Exo-K being the Korean subunit who promoted mostly in Korea, and Exo-M being the Chinese one who mostly did promotions in China.

The members of Exo M were Kris, Luhan, Xiumin, Chen, Tao and Lay. The members of Exo-K were Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O, Kai and Sehun. Of the original twelve members, only nine remain.

Kris, Luhan and Tao left in 2014 due to personal feelings towards their company, SM entertainment,. Lay is the only actual Chinese member to remain. The official fandom name is Exo-LS, with many songs released since the beginning of their career. The latest official comeback was “Lotto” which was released at the end of August.

B.A.P – Debuted in 2012 with the stand out track, “Warrior,” B.A.P stands for Best Absolute Perfect. There are six members in B.A.P: the leader Yongguk, Himchan, Daehyun, Youngjae, Jong-Up and Zelo who is the youngest.

The symbol for B.A.P is their signature Matokis with each member having their own. Yongguk has Shishi Mato who is red, Himchan has Tats Mato who is pink, Zelo has ToTo Mato who is blue, YoungJae has Joko Mato who is yellow, Daehyun has Keke Mato who is white, and Jongup has Dada Mato who is green.

In 2014 B.A.P was placed on hiatus due to a lawsuit with the company they are signed to, which is TS entertainment. B.A.P officially ended their hiatus in November of 2015 with their Matrix album, and the “Young Wild & Free” music video was released.

Since the end of the hiatus, B.A.P has had two comebacks in 2016 the latest one being “That’s My Jam”.
