If you’re not doing anything this weekend, then now is the perfect time to give back to the community and show support for Down Syndrome awareness at the National Down Syndrome Society’s Buddy Walk.
On Sunday, October 19th, the Buddy Walk will take place at John Prince Park in order to commemorate Down Syndrome awareness month and to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome.
The Buddy Walk was established in 1995 by the NDSS and has been gaining more support year after year.
This isn’t the only Buddy Walk that’s going on this year. Every year, the NDSS hosts 250 Buddy Walks nationwide, so that everyone can join in to show their support.
Registration was online, but if you haven’t registered yet, you can do so at the event at 8 a.m. before it begins at 9:15 a.m.
If you aren’t able to make it to the walk, you can still donate online to support the cause.
