Hey Chiefs! A lot of students on our campus drive, but there are a lot of students working to get their driver’s license. If you’re one of those students keep reading for tips on getting your driver’s license.
1) The first step is to get your permit. You could do this easily by going to flvs.net and taking the Driver’s Ed course. It’ll take about 2 months, and I would suggest taking the course before you turn 15 that way you can take the test as soon as you turn 15.
2) It is required of you to have your license for at least a year and a day before being eligible to obtain your license. While you’re waiting for that year to be up, PRACTICE!! If you don’t practice you’ll be a wreck trying to take your test. Even if it’s once a month for an hour, practicing definitely helps.
Here’s what to practice that will 100% be included in your test:
- Reverse and straight-in parking
- Emergency Stop
- Three-Point turn
- Parking Uphill
- Turn signals
3) Once your year is up, and you’ve practiced, schedule your appointment with the DMV. I would suggest scheduling your appointment in the afternoon that way you’re more energized.
4) On the day of your test don’t freak yourself out, try to get a good meal in, and drink some water. The instructors know you’re nervous so don’t worry!
I hope these tips helped, Chiefs! Good luck on your test!
