UPDATE: All after school activites  have been cancelled today, August 28th, as a result of storm

A tropical storm warning has been issued by National Hurricane Center for the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Vieques, and Culebra.

Tropical storm Erika, not Danny as many may have expected, has moved westward and is anticipated to grow slowly into a hurricane in the next couple of days. Erika has a similar path to what Danny had, however, Erika has reached more opportunities to become stronger, while Danny ended up weakening.

Signs point to the fact that it will be moving through  a path that will lead to landfall on the Bahamas as of early Sunday morning, August 30th.

According to The Weather Channel, tropical storm Erika will move to an environment that will factor into the storm becoming a hurricane. However, there are still many hurdles that the storm will have to pass through that may hinder it from hitting Chief territory here at Santaluces.
