Located in the parking lot of their delicious taco restaurant partner Zipitios (2676 Florida Ave, West Palm Beach) is one of the finest hidden gems of West Palm, The Vintage Supermarket hosted by @Floridathriftman on Instagram. It is a monthly event that takes place mostly on a Sunday in the middle of each month. It is a flea market style event where many of the best local vintage sellers, local brands, etc, come together to sell their numerous goods.
Last Sunday their event for December took place and I had the chance to experience it for myself. Although I got there around 2 pm, the actual event opens at 1 pm and closes at 6pm. One thing I took note of was that although it was packed and I arrived an hour after the start, each vendor still had racks full of clothes, so no need to worry about coming right before they open.
While I was there I was able to find all kinds of clothes, including old vintage graphic tees from Marvel or from old bands, Carhartt, Harley Davidsons, and even higher end designers like Maison Margiela, Bape, Supreme, Givenchy, etc. There’s a large selection that caters to not just men but women as well. For example, while I was there was so much Betty Boop merch such as watches, rings, and a really cool jean jacket. I also found a lot of cool jeans from brands you may know like South Pole, Ecko, Ed Hardy, Carhartt, and many more.
Many vendors were also selling cool accessories such as necklaces, bracelets, rings, watches, bags, and hats. One thing that really caught my eye were these ring watches, a watch made to fit on just one finger. Another vendor that stood out to me was one that sold electronics. They sold all kinds of vintage cameras or camcorders.
While I was there, I couldn’t help but notice how nice the people were, they have positive energy and are very easy to talk to. However, as much as I wanted to stay for longer I couldn’t, because it unfortunately started to rain and everyone ended up gathering in a booth to keep cover, so make sure to check the weather forecast before you go.
