The first Photo Club meeting was September 8th in Ms. Ardner’s room, which is room 4111. Starting around 3:00 p.m., the club’s president, Allison Bower, began the meeting with officer introductions. During the presentation, each officer introduced themselves, along with their preferred photography style and favorite event the club hosts annually. Officers recited how Relay for Life, where Photo Club sells polaroids to raise money for cancer, is one of their favorite events. Other officers reminisced about the Street Painting Festival. It is a lively event where participants draw chalk art in downtown Lake Worth Beach.
After the presentations, officers tasked members with a game. Their goal was to complete a sentence from different objects around the room. In groups, members bonded while taking pictures of items around the room. Sentences like “fish are colorful” were born from colored pencils representing color, and the fish sculpture in Ms. Ardner’s room.
Once members had finished making sentences, we all played a charades game. Members had to describe a word to another person, and whichever team guessed the word correctly first won. In groups of two, members took turns playing until 4:00 p.m. Lots of laughs were shared at Photo Club this week!
The next Photo Club meeting, September 22nd, will focus on the school’s Haunted House. Every year, Photo Club participates in the Haunted House by making a backdrop for students to take pictures in front of.
