What Art Means to Tamar Silencieux

Tamar Silencieux
A drawing Tamar did in school.

My close friend Tamar Silencieux, a high school senior at Santaluces High School, has been drawing for five years and her love for art has made her realize the deep meaning of what art is to her. Art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination. Tamar states, “Creating art gives me the space to express my creativity and style on different mediums.” The way people can express their creativity through different mediums, by unlocking new dimensions of their imagination and taking advantage of a unique art voice with the help of different techniques. Art is a way for people to relax, reduce stress, and promote positivity.

What got Tamar interested in making art was “the pure need to create something through my imagination and skills; where I wanted to develop a style of art that was my own. I mostly pencil sketches and sometimes paint portraits of scenery or anime characters that I’m interested in. Tamar says, “I have been drawing for five years on and off, and I can say that I’ve improved over the years by practicing and learning new things that will improve my artwork in the future.” Motivation is the desire to achieve an outcome. Tamar’s motivation for art is the feeling of satisfaction she gets when the art builds up on the intricate details made in the process of creating the final piece. Here are her works of art listed below:
