Jordan Speith: Upcoming Prodigy

Stanley Alexis, Sports Writer

Over the weekend, the 21 year old Jordan Speith made history and immediately shifted the spotlight on himself, being one of the youngest golf players to win the 2015 Masters tournament. Speith dominated this tournament, winning by four strokes and almost breaking a record. Last year at the 2014 Masters tournament, he tied for 2nd. This year, he tied a Masters’ scoring at -18 and almost tied Tiger Woods’ Masters scoring record of -19, one record that everyone thought was never ever going to be broken or challenged.

Though he didn’t break a record, spectators and fans are calling Speith the next great American golf hope. With this major win, the phenom is slowly building his professional golf resume and making a name for himself. But his career is far from over and this is just the start. His goals from this point on are to win another Masters, more tournaments and dethrone Rory McIlory from his No. 1 World spot.
