Edwin Ross is this year’s Junior class president. Edwin chose to run for class president because he wanted to play a bigger role in the school.

“I wanted to do more and be more involved here at school,” said Ross. “Which is why I joined student government.”

Edwin plans on staying active in student government as well as student council.

Edwin wants to make the high school experience better for all students. His goal is to increase school spirit and encourage students to be more involved in school events such as Homecoming activities, basketball games and class meetings. Edwin always tells his peers to attend basketball games and support the Chiefs.

“The class of 2017 will be the best class Santaluces has ever had,” said Ross.

Edwin plans on running for class president in his senior year because of the new connections he has made with the student body while campaigning. It gave him an opportunity to meet new people.

“While Edwin is an academic leader in being valedictorian of his class, he also has the work ethic when it comes to being an active student leader on campus,” said Mr. Kalina, Student Government adviser. “Edwin is a winner.”

Edwin wishes to continue making an impact on the school by staying active in office and participating in school activities. After high school, Edwin plans to attend college and major in corporate law, as well as possibly earn a minor in journalism.
