Open House for the 2016-2017 school year started off with club rush. Tables were set up around the courtyard. Yearbook members hounded parents and teachers to buy this year’s book at a discount. The Band of Chiefs handed flyers about joining marching band, and various other groups such as JROTC, Debate, and Science Honors Society spoke to interested parents and students. Following that, parents went through a shortened class period for all seven classes. They went from class to class with help from National Honor Society members. Mrs. Robinson addressed parents and teachers via video welcome during first period. Teachers also showed a District video about the Penny Tax law on the ballot in November.

About the Contributor
Olivia Moore, Managing Editor
Hello! My name is Olivia and I'm a senior here at Santaluces. This is my first year in newspaper, and I'm the Managing Editor here on the Tribe, as well as the Opinion Editor. Some of my passions include sleeping, Tumblr, and crying over Grey's Anatomy. I'm a sarcastic feminist who loves helping those around me and I hope to one day make a difference in people's lives. Although I haven't set my goal on a university quite yet, I hope to major in psychology and minor in sociology in hopes of one day becoming a counseling psychologist. On top of this, I hope to somehow incorporate writing and journalism into my life as I love to express my opinions and thoughts about the world around me.
