In a show of solidarity, Santaluces Chiefs walked out of their classrooms in a call to action outdoor assembly during fourth period. They gathered in the bus loop to show their support for the protests that occurred across America. Students made posters and gave speeches begging for changes in legislation to prevent another mass shooting. Students were passionate about their speeches and why they were protesting. Assistant Principal Dr. Gideon encouraged students to raise their voices and chant slogans such as “Enough is Enough,” “Stop the Silence, End the Violence,” “17 is Too Many” and “No Justice, No Peace.” Students continued to chant as they made their way back to class.

Emma Koons, Co-Editor
Hi, my name is Emma and I'm a senior and an editor for the Tribe. I'm currently a member of NHS, the Science National Honor Society, FFEA, and the Early Childhood academy. Being in the Early Childhood academy has allowed me to learn how to see things from different perspectives and I want to use this skill to create stories that express the variety of experiences in this school. My goals this year are to become more involved in what Santaluces has to offer and to document the events of my final year in high school.
