After a tough loss to Atlantic just two weeks prior, the Chiefs football team was looking to recover and defeat a struggling Spanish River for their Homecoming game with their strong defense and continuous success on offense.
Despite a poor start that saw the Chiefs lead by only two scores for a majority of the game, the Chiefs were able to dominate the Spanish River offense and force four interceptions and two safeties, including a blocked punt that went into the end zone.
The Chiefs would begin the scoring midway through the first quarter, when senior quarterback Justin Raymonvil scored on a quarterback keeper, making the score 7-0. Later in the quarter, senior quarterback Tyler Kintz connected with senior Keyondric Sams for a 26-yard touchdown, making their lead 13-0.
The Chiefs would increase their lead to 21-0 after senior Jackson Jules broke a few tackles, reversed fields and took the opening kickoff of the second half to the house. Later in the third quarter, the Chiefs would take a 29 point lead following a blocked punt turned into a safety and a rushing touchdown by senior Gerry Charles. With just over a minute in the third quarter, junior running back Val Carnegie would give the Chiefs a 36 point lead on a short rushing touchdown.
The Chiefs finished their scoring onslaught late in the fourth quarter when senior Khalid Edouard would score from a yard out after the third interception by senior Bickley Dorceus. The score would solidify Chief dominance.
The Chiefs will travel to face off against rival Park Vista before finishing off their season on the road against Olympic Heights.
