This week is a really big week for the Chiefs as they will face off against the Pahokee Blue Devils in a week 1 matchup that is listed as this week’s “game of the week.”

The Chiefs are coming off a strong 8-3 season making a playoff appearance and winning a district title.  The Blue Devils are also coming off a strong season as they made it all the way to the game before the state championship.  In addition to that, both teams are coming into this game after winning their Kickoff Classic Games last Friday by large marks. 

Pahokee is a team that is going to rely heavily on their top wide receiver Hardley Gilmore, who is a 4-star recruit.  The Chiefs have weapons of their own, however, and will plan to use their talent.  Especially Senior running back, Derrick Willimas who is coming off of a 2 touchdown game last Friday. Also, Senior quarterback Shy Deveaux will be an important aspect in leading the Chiefs offense. In Deveaux’s Senior debut he was 12 of 14 on passes for 271 yards and 4 touchdown passes: all in the first half of the game!  Shy’s production in this game allowed for receivers like AnaTay Smith, Elijah Rodriguez, and Israel Marrion to all score touchdowns in the first half of play. The Chief’s defense also did a great job by holding the Wolverines to only 7 points.  This game is going to be huge for them.
