Aice Travel and Tourism held events on 11/14 and 11/15 during first and second lunch to give students who passed by their tables information on the history and the culture of the country they chose to do a project on. We had the opportunity to interview a few students in the class on what exactly they had to do and why. We got insights on the class and how the students prepared for events like this one.
Brenda Pierre is a junior who is taking the AICE Travel and Tourism class. Her event was “Games Around the World.” In this activity they presented different games from around the world such as UNO, Hopscotch, Musical Chairs, and jump rope. For their event they wanted something that students and staff would be able to interact with, which is why they chose games that multiple people can play. “I chose to take AICE Travel and Tourism because I am pursuing the AICE diploma in hopes of going to college for free.” She tells us that she is most looking forward to their many upcoming events.
Gabriella Bitchatcho is a junior who is taking the AICE Travel and Tourism class. She is also a part of the “Games Around the World” group. Her favorite part of working on the presentation has been making the presentation board. It has taken their group about a month to prepare for this event.
Ronaya Oliver is a junior in AICE Travel and Tourism. She presented a project about Colombia’s history, culture, religion and festivals. Her and her friends laid out many different ideas and chose what country would be the most interesting for them and others to learn about. It took them about 3 to 4 weeks to complete the project. She believes other people should consider taking AICE Travel and Tourism to learn more about different countries, cultures, and beautiful places to tour.
