The National Honor Society, or NHS, has recently sent emails to eleventh and twelfth-graders with a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the 2025-2026 school year. This select group of kids will participate in the NHS induction on August 28th. They will be recognized as being part of a prestigious club for high school students.
On this day, the club sponsor, Mr. Seenath, and the club officers will celebrate new members and their academic achievements. The induction consists of empowering speeches from the officers, a candle ceremony, and a celebration with food and drinks.
The four pillars of the NHS are: Leadership, Scholarship, Service, and Character. Students in the club must demonstrate a commitment to this conduct while also striving for academic excellence.
During the induction, club officers will light four candles to represent each pillar. To become a member, each student will light a candle to symbolize their commitment to the club and their promise to represent the four pillars of the NHS.
All the officers are excited to meet the new members. They’re also excited to host and participate in meaningful events throughout the year, such as the haunted house in October and Relay for Life in March. When we aren’t playing games, members of the NHS are working on large projects and hosting events around the school. Keep an eye out for our events!
If you believe you fit the criteria for club participation and are interested in joining, check your email and complete the Google form Mr. Seenath sent. The NHS is looking forward to meeting and learning about every unique individual!
