On September 3rd, there was an FSU college visit for seniors and juniors here at Santaluces. In order to attend, students were required to sign up through a google form sent through email, which is why it is so important for students to check their emails!
The presentation was in the PAC, during third period. I think that this is really helpful so that students are able to get more information about colleges they are looking to attend. The lady that came to present about FSU graduated from Santaluces as well. She talked about what college life was like, SAT scores, GPA, housing, and so much more. Students that attended the meeting were given two booklets that contain information about FSU.
I was able to learn about the majors that they offered and the requirements that come with those majors. Some of the majors that FSU offers are…
- Criminology
- Hospitality management
- Biomedical sciences
- Entrepreneurship
- Biomedical engineering
- Chemical engineering
These are only six of the many majors that FSU offers for its students.
FSU latest additions were also mentioned during the visit. FSU recently launched “FSU Health”. They opened a hospital that is very useful and resourceful for their students majoring in Pre Med, or any medical field. Many people are interested in medical fields, and this could make them realize that, maybe, FSU is a college that they are interested in, and it has the resources to become successful. Their newest and largest academic building on campus is the Legacy Hall. This offers their students majoring in business a flexible, collaborative, and multifunctional environment for them to learn.
FSU has many opportunities and resources for their students.
- They have 275+ Degree programs
- 55+ Combined Bachelor’s Master’s Pathway
- They also have an international program; FSU has had an international program for more than 65 years. They have 40+ study abroad programs in 11 countries and year-round study centers in London, England, Italy and other countries.
- University Honors Program
Another topic that was talked about was their community, the events they host, what a school day is like for their students, the clubs they offer, the activities you can do and many ways for you to get involved and have a good college experience. I was able to learn all this information from the booklets they provided and by listening to them talk about everything that FSU offers. These visits are so helpful, and I’m so glad that we have the resources to get this much information.
