At the 2015 VMAs, Kanye West announced that he would be running for president in 2020 after a long and emotional acceptance speech.

“It’s not about me. It’s about ideas. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth,” Kanye said. “And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”

There have been quite a few people who have poked fun at Kanye so far, from Jimmy Kimmel to those in the White House.

While on Air Force One, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest spoke to reporters about what happened, and he said that he was looking forward to seeing what slogan he would want to embroider on his campaign hat. This was more than likely said to poke fun at current presidential candidate Donald Trump, who is selling “Make America Great Again” hats.

Jimmy Kimmel produced a montage of Kanye and Trump, which jumped between Kanye’s acceptance speech and some of Trump’s most infamous moments from his campaign so far.

Whether Kanye is really planning on running for president, that’s unclear. However, after his long and seemingly endless speech, many found it hard to take him seriously. When it comes down to it, though, would Kim Kardashian really be the best fit for a first lady?
