The heroes in the half shells are back!

On December 9, the trailer for the anticipated sequel was released to the public through the TMNT Movie Youtube channel. The original film earned $493.3 million on a $125 million budget.

The trailer starts off with a menacing looking cloud opening up and unleashing space ships above New York City, as hundreds of people look on. The very next scene shows off the Turtles beefed up with new equipment, and a quick flash of the returning villain: The Shredder.

This new trailer delivers a shock of nostalgia with characters from the original TMNT series, such as Casey Jones, Baxter Stockman, Bebop and Rocksteady. The Turtle Van also makes an appearance as a remix of RUN-DMC’s “It’s Tricky” plays in the background.

The movie is scheduled to release June 3, 2016.
