If you have passed the Boynton Beach Mall, then you may have noticed the new hardware store in the plaza next to Dick’s Sporting Goods. This new hardware store is based out of California and has expanded into two other states: Oregon and Florida.
Upon my own curiosity I decided to visit the Boynton Beach location. There are other locations in Delray, Coral Springs, Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Sunrise. The Boynton location just happened to be my local store.
The store is very nice. The walls are painted with some designs unique to just the Boynton location. The store wasn’t terribly busy as some of the store’s counterparts such as Home Depot or Lowe’s may be.
It’s a fairly new store and it is apparent. All of the aisles and shelves were kept in good order, which I assume won’t stand much longer as the store gets older and more people start to flood in.
The staff there was held to a gold standard of hospitality. When I walked through the automatic sliding doors I was warmly welcomed and encouraged to ask for assistance if needed. Something that should be a normality in stores but isn’t and was a nice touch.
The store itself isn’t that much different than something like Home Depot, Lowe’s, or Ace Hardware in the aspect of the merchandise that they sell. They do offer family inclusive workshops where they teach kids to build basic workshop things and do basic woodwork.
Overall my experience there was quite pleasant. They had all of the same things as a normal hardware store but there was a more welcoming and warm atmosphere that they provided. I don’t know if this is enough to sway my blind allegiance to the Home Depot, but it is certainly a good start.
