On Friday night, Santaluces High School took home the victory against Wellington High School with an outstanding score of 46-7. The formidable team starts their season off showing they’re not here to play games and are planning to take home the championship this year.

Producing incredible stats for week 0ne, Santaluces Quarterback, Shyeia Deveaux, throws 12/14 passes for 271 yards completing 4 touchdowns. In addition, Santaluces Running Back, Derrick Williams, completes 5 rushes for 90 yards along with 2 touchdowns and 1 catch for 11 yards, showing not only is he a threat on the run but is also versatile on the catch. Making it difficult for Wellington’s defense to coordinate a successful strategy, Santaluces Receiver, Anatay Smith, breaks down the defense with each play. As Anatay Smith moves through the field he sets up his teammates for the best possible outcome in the end. Anatay Smith had 2 receptions for 70 yards and 1 touchdown.
