To end off this astonishing homecoming week filled with spirit, Santaluces Chiefs secured the win with a score of 42-21 against Royal Palm High School to add the finishing touches.

Showing out tonight, number 6 WR/RB Israel Marion scored two touchdowns back-to-back to start off the game. The young dual-position athlete showing off what he is capable of early in the game left a bitter taste in Royal Palms’ mouth. Royal Palm knew the night was going to be a long one.

In addition to Israel Marion’s amazing performance, Santaluces’ RB Derrick Williams scored two touchdowns while covering more than 60+ yards really showed Santaluces’ offensive power and their Line Man’s ability to block and create an opening for their Running Back. Continuously running for more than 60+ yards each game while managing to score, Derrick Williams proceeds to demonstrate his skills to the fans. An honorable mention to a player who served a role in Santaluces’ win is to Cristian Clavijo, who is the Chief’s kicker. Christian Clavijo ended the game with 6 pts going 2/2 from the field.

Not only was the offense incredible, but so was the defense. Middle Line Backer Travis “Tre” Robinson Jr. and Outside Line Backer Keshawn Barker securing the middle and outside gap left no room for Royal Palm to operate with a running scheme, forcing Royal Palm to resort to throwing the ball throughout the game.

Right next to these two Line Backers was Santaluces’ Corner Back, Caden Gordon. With his quick speed and height, Gordon caused two incompletions and held Royal Palms Wide receiver to under 50 yards.

With spirit week ending, the Chiefs finished it off with a lasting memory and enjoyable ending. After building up anticipation for the game all week, fans were satisfied to see the Chiefs take home the victory and are excited to see what the rest of the season will look like.
