This weekend the Santaluces Marching Chiefs are taking an exciting trip to Orlando to tour universities, participate in musical workshops, and perform in Disney.

Early Friday morning the Chiefs will leave the school at 6 am to take a tour of the campuses of UCF and Full Sail University. The day will come to a close by spending some time in the Disney Hollywood Studios park.

The next day entails a workshop with Disney musicians, in which the band will play the soundtrack to Disney animation. Afterwards the students will visit the Magic Kingdom

The pinnacle of the trip is Sunday, when the Chiefs will be marching in a parade in the World Showcase at Epcot  The trip will take a close by spending the rest of the day in Epcot, enjoying the Food and Wine Festival.

This is the first time the band will participate in both the Disney workshops and parade. “We’ve never done any of this before, so I’m really excited to see how this weekend goes,” says Senior Alexis Trevino. “We worked really hard this season and I’m really glad that our final performance will be in Epcot.”
