Chiefs Celebrate the Seniors

Matthew Leto, Staff Writer

On Monday morning, underclassmen poured into the stands awaiting the second annual “Senior Celebration.”

Once the stands were occupied with underclassmen, the seniors took the floor. Seniors marched in representing their college with t-shirts, posters, and their college’s iconic dances.

Before the celebration unfolded, speeches were made by our principal Mrs. Robinson and teacher Mrs. Schroader.

Students shared their post-secondary plans with colleges from: Norte Dame, Penn State , University of Florida, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, Florida International University, Florida Atlantic University,  Santa Fe college, West Point and Palm Beach State College.

As the colleges were announced, students received a token of the school’s appreciation as the stands erupted in their classmates success.

To close the ceremony, a new tradition was started when the senior class president, Alex Rivera, passed the gavel to junior class president Edwin Ross. In addition, Rivera gave a farewell address challenging underclassmen to strive for success.

Seniors will officially graduate May 23rd, 2016 at the Fair Grounds.
