December 2nd, 2025 was Delray Beach annual Christmas tree lighting. This year is the 32nd year that Delray lights up their 100 ft tree. Downtown shuts down for the night and cars are only allowed to a certain street. Beyond that, there’s many vendors and the restaurants are, of course, still open . This is such a fun activity to start December off with, if you didn’t go this year I definitely recommend going, it’s always towards the end of November or the very beginning of December.
The event starts with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus walking down a path to the firefighter’s truck and Santa being lifted into the air to light up the tree. This year there were some problems with the lights because only half of the tree lit up at first, but they ended up fixing it later on, so it wasn’t much of a problem.

There are also other things to do. There’s an ice skating rink for kids, and you don’t have to own skates because they do provide them; this activity would cost $6. There is also a holiday carousel and the fee is only $6 per ride. You can also play mini golf, which is only $6 as well! Everything is very affordable. You can even take pictures with Santa for $10. You can purchase tickets for any of these activities at the Gingerbread House by the tree. The inside of the tree is also decorated with historic replicas of Delray Beach History!
This is overall such a fun, affordable, and educational activity for you and your family! If you still haven’t had the chase to visit, you can still go throughout December. It’s open everyday, except for the 24th and 25th!
