Before the talent show I was very nervous. I was using the restroom multiple times. As I was hearing the audience cheer on the other people I was practicing in the corner by myself. I was practicing my dance moves. (Popping and locking). Occasionally, I would stretch my muscles. When I went on stage, I saw bright flashing lights and a ton of people. Due to technical difficulties, the music did not play for almost five minutes. It felt like forever. During my performance, I zoned out the audience and before I knew it, I was bowing down to an uproar of applause from the audience. I didn’t think I was going to win. But after I heard my name after 3rd place and 2nd place, I ran up to the stage. I felt honored to receive this large check. It felt great.

Hey! My name is Alicia and I am a 17-year-old Junior. This is my first year in journalism and I love it. I enjoy listening to Pop music; one of my favorite artists is The Weeknd. I also like watching beauty, vlogs, and DIY YouTube videos. Every summer I volunteer at summer camps as an assistant counselor for 4-6 year olds. I plan on going to FAU to study education and become an elementary school teacher.
