Recently, I had the pleasure of interviewing one of our photographers here at The Tribe. Cristian Verde is a sophomore here at Santaluces. In his free time, he plays soccer and he loves to fish. He also loves to work on his truck and make changes on it whenever he gets the chance. This shows that he is a very outgoing person and loves outside activities.
Here are some questions that I asked during the interview:
What grade are you currently in and what are your plans after high school ?
“I am currently in 10th grade. My plan after high school is to get into a trade school for mechanics.”
How do you balance your responsibilities as a writer for the school newspaper with your other interests and schoolwork?
“Well, I first try to get all my work done in school. I have to write at least one topic each week so that’s not bad at all. I have hobbies like fishing, working on cars, playing soccer, and just learning new things so that’s what I do in my free time or on the weekends.”
What are your favorite hobbies outside of school?
“I have many hobbies but I feel like the ones that I would consider my favorite is fishing, soccer, and learning about cars.”
Could you describe your experience with photography for The Tribe?
“The Tribe has taught me a lot and has introduced me to new people. Ms.Harms is a great teacher and I am truly blessed to have her as one. She’s taught me responsibility, respect, and she has truly helped me find out what I want to be.”
What is your favorite part of playing soccer outside of school ?
“My favorite part of playing soccer outside of school is catching up with my friends and just having a good time with them.”
What is one piece of advice you’d give your freshman self?
“One piece of advice I’d give my freshman self is: don’t try to rush everything. One thing I’ve learned is that “Everything happens for a reason”. Focus on yourself and get them grades up.”
