Last summer, I went to North Carolina for the first time and it was my first time leaving the state of Florida. I went there to visit my grandparents. They lived on the Treasure Coast and just recently moved back to North Carolina. When I went, I was speechless because I am so used to the beaches, palm trees and development of Florida. North Carolina made me realize that the world could be much simpler than it is right now. It was so beautiful: just open spaces and houses on huge plots of land, farms and animals. It was a lot of fun because I got to see lots of family that I haven’t seen in a while, all of my cousins. We all had a blast and played around. It was really nice to be around my family and see a different part of the world.

My name is Jennifer, I am 16 years old and a Junior. My hobbies include reading and Netflix. I chose journalism because I like to get behind the scenes and learn new things. My philosophy in life is that you can never learn too much. So of course that means I want to go to college. I want to go to Howard University and study psychology. I want to be a prison psychiatrist.
