The spirit of Halloween has come to town: it’s creeping up behind you, hiding in your candy bowls, and up on the high creepy book shelves. Before you know it, you’ll be opening up your door to ghosts and goblins, princesses and fairies, pirates and medieval warriors, and all kinds of Disney characters.
Students all over campus are starting to get into the spirit of the Holiday. Seniors Maria Mojica, Natalia Garcia, Briana Mazzocchi, and Haley Mooney, are already planning their halloween costumes.
“If you don’t dress up you’re a loser,” said Mazzocchi. “Halloween Isn’t just for kids and you’re never too old for candy.”
Students are not only looking forward to just halloween, but also shorter days, darker nights, colder weather and, of course, all the amusements that come to the sunshine state to celebrate the holiday.
“We don’t really have much to do in this city, so when Fright Nights comes to town it’s always exciting,” said senior Nicholas Rodriguez. “It’s also perfect sweater weather, I know I’m going to have a hard time getting up in the mornings.”
October also marks the beginning of the holiday season. After halloween, there’s the start of stuffing turkeys, bumping old ladies out of line at the shopping mall, hanging lights and screaming out: “Happy new year.” Some students just can’t wait to get into all that.
“Whats better then going into the mall at midnight and coming out at three in the morning on black friday?,” said Rodriguez. “Especially when you don’t buy anything. I just go to watch the drama.”
Whether it’s carving pumpkins, eating pumpkin pies, or simply watching elderlies kill each other for a scarf, the fall season has something for everyone to enjoy.

I love how you started off your story and you made me laugh, “bumping old ladies out of line at the shopping mall.”
