“The best moment of my life was when I got the news that I got moved up to Varsity Football. When I heard about it, I couldn’t believe it; it was crazy. Now I see dreams and opportunities that have opened up for me that I could never have imagined. I started football when I was 5 but I had a surgery that kept me from playing until I was 7. I practice everyday from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. or sometimes to 6. I just have to keep working hard and staying focused on the field and in the weight room while keeping up with my school work as well. I try to go my hardest in every play and improve myself every time I’m on the field. Football has been such a big influence on my life and has set paths for me for my future. It’s not only a sport but a part of who I am.”

Hello!
My name is Richard Dye and I'm a freshman at Santaluces High School. This is my first year in newspaper and I'm looking forward to sharing with you the current events that are happening outside of your busy schedules. Other than that, I'm 14 years old and was born in Taiwan, but I grew up in Florida my whole life. I am just your average teenager. My hobbies include sleeping, eating, being with friends and family, and sports. You know, the normal life of a fellow teen. I hope to intrigue and entertain you with my stories and hope you learn something out of it.
