Due to COVID-19, many artists were forced to cancel their events in the best interest of public health and the safety of concertgoers. Fans were left disappointed after performances by Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, BTS, and many others, were canceled. To address her “Lover” tour cancellation Taylor Swift tweeted, “Please, please stay healthy and safe. I’ll see you on stage as soon as I can but right now what’s important is committing to this quarantine, for the sake of all of us.”

After releasing his second album, “Fine Line”, Harry Styles was set to go on a world tour to showcase his masterpiece. Junior Mobashir Jahan expresses, “It was supposed to be my first concert and I was so excited but I’d rather wait until it’s safe so I can enjoy it without being fearful.” This is the case for many, including myself, who have been eagerly waiting for his South Florida shows.

Other tours such as 5 Seconds of Summer’s “No Shame Tour” was canceled leaving fans out of hope. Junior Sophia Balboa says, “In my opinion, I find it really disappointing to not be able to go to the concert I have been anticipating for a while now, but I understand that this is for the best to keep everyone safe. I ended up just refunding my ticket since there was no rescheduled venue in Florida.” Some weren’t fortunate enough to get their tickets refunded and are left counting the days until another potential show; however, they are compassionate towards the safety of others.

Hopefully, later events are amidst better conditions for people to scream their favorite songs at the top of their lungs without a mask.
