As the final days of high school get closer and closer, the reality of knowing that you will never sit in a high school class again starts to really set in. Santaluces has shaped its students into the people we are today, and our last day being on April 25th doesn’t even feel real. As we leave high school, we basically are leaving a huge safety net, entering the world on our own for the first time.
We have to finally branch out, leaving many teachers and friends made over the past four years. Some have to make even harder decisions, deciding whether they want to stay in the local area or branch out into the world on their own. For many, this is the start of the process of deciding their own futures, whether it’s going to college, trade school, or joining the military. These are decisions we have to start making and sometimes it can scare us because of the difference your life will be.
Many of us have dreamt about our high school lives from when we were little children. Now, it’s just a bittersweet moment, as we are finally at a stage in life that once sounded so far away. We think of how magical it’ll be, even if our imagination is not very realistic. It’s both the end of a chapter and the start of a new one. Growing up, many often heard their parents talk about their high school memories and soon, we will be doing the same. Even if we are not close with these people in the future we will always remember them as the people that made Santaluces High School memorable.
