Boys Basketball Preview

Matthew Leto, Sports Editor

The Chiefs finished last season at 22-7 with a loss in the regional semi-final game against powerhouse Wellington High School. The Chiefs will look to repeat as district 10-8A champions after an unforgettable, 60-54, triple overtime win to capture the district 10-8A championship from the Boca Raton Bobcats last season.

Despite many hardships of the offseason such as losing seniors to graduation and surprising transfers, the Chiefs will look to sync together and return to glory this upcoming year.

The Chiefs will be back at it again for their first game in Chief country on December 2nd, against the Spanish River Sharks.

Senior Edwin Ross chimed on this upcoming season.

“We have a lot of new players, so we definitely have work to do,” Ross said. “I’m confident that we will be contenders to win districts again this year.”

Prediction

I predict the Chiefs to go 14-6, not including tournament games. In addition, I predict another District final appearance for the Chiefs.
