With the annual Santaluces Christmas Classic scheduled for December 9th and 10th, the Santaluces Wrestling team are preparing for the upcoming season.

Last season, seniors Kareem Thomas and Gabriel Burzycki qualified for the State wrestling tournament along with the Tribe’s very own Haley Hinkofer.

Haley finished in third place for her weight in the state.

Coach Franco should have the returning district champions whipped into shape for the tournament at Royal Palm Beach High School on December 3rd.

Hinkofer likely will have a chance at grabbing the state title in her weight class.

Senior Mike Medio weighed in on the upcoming season.

“I expect our team to continue to come together and build from last year,” Medio said. “I personally want to be a leader for the team and be there for them.”

Expect a huge year for the wrestling team.
