My Experience At Santaluces First JV Game

Santaluces Community High School had its first JV game on September 6 ,2023 against Olympic Heights Community High School.

My experience at the first JV game as a cheerleader was exciting because I like to be on the sidelines, cheering the boys on to get a victory. This game was very fun because we had a bigger crowd come out to support, and usually there isn’t a big crowd.

Santaluces won against Olympic Heights with a score of 40-0 and a running clock for the second half of the game because they were above 35 during the second half. Last year, the JV didn’t win any games, so I was excited to see them win the first JV game of the season.

As a cheerleader, you have to pay attention to the game to know when to call certain things like for defense. You have to know when to call defense and offense cheers. Every time a player on the Santaluces team makes a touchdown, we have to run to the end and cheer them on as they are doing the kick for the extra point. With all the touchdowns, I was very tired by the end of the game because cheerleader water breaks are at the end of each quarter unless you need water.

The football players were very excited after looking at the scoreboard. After seeing that there was no time and that they had won, they ran off the field going back to the locker room as they were celebrating, screaming, and doing back flips.

Overall, the game was interesting and fun. The vibe was good because the crowd was screaming, and you could see the smiles on their faces. The crowd gave off good energy for the entire game, which kept me and my teammates smiling, happy, and cheerful, during the whole game.
