This Wednesday proved to be memorable for the Chiefs Baseball family as they commemorated the progression of four-year varsity starting short stop Anthony “A.J.” Orrico.
A.J. made it official by putting pen to paper, and conclusively became a member of the Florida State College at Jacksonville baseball program.
“What I’m looking forward to most is what it means to be a collegiate baseball player,” said Orrico.
The First Team All-County short stop holds an astonishing .385 career batting average and gives the appearance of a defensive wizard in the 6-hole with a .912 career fielding percentage. The FSCJ baseball program is getting an extremely hard worker who pushes the limits in the classroom and in the weight room in addition to playing a great game on the diamond.
“I will do everything it takes to compete at the next level,” said Orrico. “Whether its 6 AM workouts or bonding with [his] future teammates in practice.”
The Chiefs family looks to grind out another successful season with A.J. before he moves on to becoming a Blue Wave.
